Grinnell’s Material Recovery Facility (MRF) is the first of its kind in Northwest New Jersey. Our 25,000 square foot MRF processes up to 400 tons of construction & demolition (C&D) debris per day. This fully licensed, NJ DEP approved facility provides a single step solution for recovering recyclables from the waste stream, allowing these materials to be processed into marketable commodities. When used in combination with our dependable container service, the MRF eliminates the need for source separation of construction materials. This allows our customers to save valuable time and resources by not having to maintain and oversee multiple containers on site.
Grinnell is also helping NJ municipalities meet the State Recycling Mandate which requires all construction and demolition waste to be recycled. Our MRF enables us to separate materials and provide the required municipality reporting documentation.
— The MRF demonstrates Grinnell’s commitment to be part of the overall solution to the demolition and construction industry’s reliance on landfills.
Grinnell Recycling is proud to be a member of the U.S. Green Building Council. The USGBC is the nation’s foremost coalition of leaders from across the building industry working to promote environmentally responsible buildings. The USGBC created a green rating system named Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design or LEED ®. The LEED system is a nationally accepted benchmark for producing high performance, sustainable structures. There are numerous benefits to building “green” through the LEED program and Grinnell is proud to offer services and recycled materials that qualify for LEED points. In addition to recycling your construction waste, we can provide specific documentation such as certified weights, certificates of recycling and quotes for hauling your recyclable materials.
Grinnell currently provides recycling reports for LEED building projects throughout New Jersey. We maintain a fully certified scale to weigh all incoming and residual waste to determine reclamation percentages.
